Joint Replacement Journey

As part of Hanover Hospital's award-winning Orthopedic Surgery service, we take it a step further to connect you with the education and support network you need before, during and after your surgery - we call it your Joint Replacement Journey, and we're here to make it a positive one.

The program, directed by the Orthopedic Nursing Staff, Case Management and the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Staff, helps patients and their families become mentally and physically ready for their surgery.

Patients receive information on what to expect before, during and after surgery, become familiar with the equipment specific to their surgeries, meet fellow patients and staff, and have the opportunity to ask questions. In this setting, patients facing similar surgeries are not only more informed but can help and encourage each other throughout the entire process. Often, members of individual groups will see their group mates during their hospital stays and provide support for one another.
